Sign your Emails

With Outlook open: 

1) Click Tools, then Options and then select the 'Mail Format' tab in theoptions window that opens. 

2) Click 'Signature Picker' and select New in the ‘signature picker’ windowthat appears. 

3) The 'create new signature' window opens. Enter a name for the new signatureyou are creating. 

4) Select the 'Start with blank Signature' button and click Next. 

5) In the ‘edit signature’ window that opens, enter the text for yoursignature, as you want it to appear. 

6) Click Finish to close this window, then click OK to close the ‘signaturepicker’ window. 

7) You are now back at the options window. Click on the 'use this signature bydefault' drop-down box and select the name of the signature you just created instep three. 

8) Click OK. 

Every new e-mail message you write will have the signature text in it when youfirst open it. 

Show pictures in Internet Explorer


Have you ever opened a web page in Internet Explorer only to findred x's in place of the pictures? 

This can happen when the settings in your Internet Explorer are changed forwhatever reason. The correct settings for showing pictures in Internet Explorerare: 

1) Click Tools, 'Internet Options' and then the Advanced tab. 

2) Scroll down to the Multimedia section of the list that is displayed andcheck the box next to 'Show Pictures'. 

3) Click OK to complete 

Shortcuts on your Desktop


A shortcut is path to a program and is represented by an icon onthe desktop that you can click to access the program. This saves you fromhaving to navigate the path to the actual location of the program. It's easy toadd a shortcut:

1) Right-click anywhere on the desktop. A pop-up menu appears. 

2) Select New, then Shortcut and the ‘create shortcut’ window opens. 

3) Use the Browse button to find the path to the application or program. 

4) Select the program you want and the path to it appears in the 'location ofitem' box. 

5) Click Next and the ‘select a title box’ appears where you are asked to entera name for the shortcut. 

6) Enter a name and then click Finish. The new shortcut appears on the desktop.Just drag it to where on the desktop you want it. 

How to set the PC Clock


Setting your PC Clock

The clock must be displayed on the taskbar to use this tip. If the clock is notvisible, right-click anywhere on the taskbar and select Properties from thelist that appears. Check the ‘Show Clock’ box in the window that appears andclick OK. 

1) Double click the clock that is displayed at the right hand end of thetaskbar.

2) The Date/Time properties window opens. Select the ‘Date & Time’tab. 

3) Underneath the clock that is displayed you will see the time shown asdigits.

4) Double click the hour and use the arrows provided to move it up or downuntil the hour is correct. 

5) Repeat this process for the minutes, seconds and AM/PM selector. 

6) Click OK to complete. 

How to set the resolution of your Display


Setting your Display Resolution

If the resolution for your display is set too low, text andgraphics will not appear sharp and crisp. 

1) Right-click anywhere on your open desktop. A pop up menu appears. 

2) Select Properties and ‘display properties' window opens. 

3) Select the Settings tab and in the ‘Screen Area’ (98) or ‘Screen Resolution’(XP) section, move the adjuster to the right to get higher (better)resolution. 

4) Click OK. 

Note: Youmay have to try a few adjustments to get the one that provides the bestviewing.
